Dan Monument M.A. is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC. Dan brings a decade plus of experience in various clinical, and professional settings within the field of mental health. Working with families, parents, and youth from diverse backgrounds, Dan connects well with those challenged by traumatic events, and multi-generational issues related to trauma. Dan utilizes a solution-focused approach, with trauma-informed principles, to help clients develop self-regulation skills, and thereby build healthy relationships. Dan offers Individual counselling, and couples counselling in his practice.
THERAPEUTIC APPROACH:
Dan approaches every individual as deserving of a unique therapeutic plan and approach. Developing a foundation of therapeutic trust through listening and understanding, Dan focuses on the personality traits, life experiences, relationship history, personal and family histories as vital keys to understanding the best course of treatment. Dan draws upon training from a variety of therapeutic modalities including Solution-Focussed Brief Therapy (SFT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive therapy (MBCT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Bader-Pearson Couples Counselling theory.
