In addition to a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Adler University, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering, and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering. Pegah brings a wealth of experiential wisdom in diverse clinical, academic, and complex professional settings. Prior to pursuing her career in clinical counselling psychology - her true passion and gift, Pegah transitioned from a successful engineering career.
Pegah has a deep-rooted passion to support people in overcoming personal crises, toward finding healing of their psyche and attaining personal freedom. Her new journey began when she immigrated to Canada, deciding to radically shift from her career in business and industrial management, to what she considers her meaningful path of serving others via counselling. As an immigrant, she had to overcome profound challenges and obstacles. Throughout this process, Pegah learned to connect with her inner strengths, develop insights into the untapped potential, gather strength from setbacks, and to thrive by pursuing her passions. These experiences inform her clinical practice with warmth and wisdom.
Pegah has two decades of international experience in business management settings, as well as various academic and clinical positions. As a software programmer, analyst, management consultant, human resource specialist, teaching assistant and academic researcher at universities in Iran, Pegah adapts to change exceptionally well. An avid learner and teacher, her research inspired her to publish a book about Iranian Entrepreneur Organization: IT Domains in Tehran.
Pegah’s collaborative and insightful style of counselling is influenced by trauma-informed therapy, strength-based therapy, multiculturally informed, and inclusive approaches. Pegah draws from a variety of therapeutic modalities within her practice, including Mindfulness based Cognitive therapy (MBCT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Act Commitment Therapy (ACT), Bowen family systems therapy, Narrative therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Pegah’s couples therapy is informed by Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT), Attachment theory, and EMDR therapy for deeper explorations into core issues that hinder intimacy and connection. Pegah works with her clients from a person-centred approach to strengthen healthy communication, express emotions, and cultivate healthy relationship patterns. Pegah offers individual counselling, couples therapy, relationship issues and family counselling.
