Introduction

Melissa Jordache is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC. The development of healthy relationships in every realm of their life—love, friendships, family, professional, and most importantly, with themselves. Addressing deep rooted self-narratives that hold individuals back is at the core of her practice.

Therapeutic Approach

Melissa works collaboratively with clients to uncover deep issues that may be preventing them from living the life they desire. She integrates a myriad of approaches into her work with clients, and adapts the therapeutic approach based on presenting concerns of the individual. Approaches used include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Attachment Theory. Releasing trauma and blocking beliefs are at the heart of her practice with clients. Additionally, Melissa works from a whole-person approach by incorporating all aspects of an individual’s context into the therapeutic relationship.

Melissa is genuinely committed to assisting her clients in developing a compassionate view toward the Self. She assists them in challenging any negative self-narratives they have developed. Further, she believes in building a strong relationship between the mind and the body. Identifying authentic emotions, expressing them, and creating connection with oneself and others through building healthy relationships, is the foundation of emotional health and wellbeing.

Therapeutic Approach

Jennifer integrates Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) in her therapeutic approach to support you and to identify and disentangle patterns that block your personal happiness and relationship success. Jennifer considers the release of long held or recent trauma that produce unwanted repetitive patterns of behavior, to be a necessary key in the deep change that we seek. Releasing the emotional blocks of past traumas, via Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), is integral toward lasting positive change.

Jennifer’s approach to Relationship therapy integrates the Clearheart model of Emotionally Focused communication tools and the Developmental Model by Bader-Pearson. Analysis, and trauma release as required, is interwoven for meaningful growth in relationship and valued change. Whether learning new communication tools to improve conflict, or identifying deeper issues for exploration, Jennifer’s approach is deeply committed to a collaborative and compassionate model of growth and change.

Introduction

Linda Deng, M.A. is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC. Linda holds double master’s degrees, one of which is a M.A. Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto. Linda brings over 15 years of experiential wisdom, providing counselling services to children, youth, adults, and families working with the Ministry of Children and Family Development, and Vancouver Coastal Health.

It is Linda’s genuinely warm, caring, and deeply compassionate approach that is instrumental in creating a safe and empowering environment to her clients. Linda’s core therapeutic values centre on respect for each person to possess inherent wisdom, then allowing the therapeutic process to facilitate our true potential for a more fulfilling life. Linda provides Individual Counselling, Couples therapy, and Family therapy in her practice.

Therapeutic Approach

At the root of Linda’s treatment philosophy is a belief in the importance of developing a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship, as well as the power of each individual to harness their personal strengths toward lasting change. Building resilience, empowerment, self-awareness, and compassion are the cornerstones of new insights and growth. Each person has a unique mix of qualities, personality, and life experiences. When we gain self-awareness of our unique mix, and how we can re-direct our focus on our strengths, new solutions emerge. Healing, personal growth, and lasting change are possible when we accept guidance from within, and support from others.

Linda believes in ongoing training and learning. She has extensive training in Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Depression (IPT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma focused CBT, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and is currently training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Linda works with her clients from a person-centred approach to strengthen healthy communication, emotional regulation, and coping skills. Attachment theory and emotion focused communication strongly inform Linda’s work with relationship issues, couples, and families.

Linda also accepts ICBC clients.

Introduction

Yanna is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC. Yanna has several years of experience in diverse clinical and educational settings, within public and private clinical settings. Her personal and professional experience enables her to intuitively uncover unconscious patterns that hold us back from the clarity we seek in our lives. Yanna believes that shame-based beliefs, and unresolved trauma from our past, contribute to most of the obstacles we encounter in our current relationship with Self and others.

Yanna encourages a highly collaborative approach with her clients, centering her practice on solution and results focused therapies. Her warmth, authenticity, and candor allow her to connect easily with her clients. Especially those clients that may have a hard time opening to others, or for those who are unsure about counselling, Yanna creates a deeply inviting space. Most joyful climbing and mountain biking in the wilderness of the West Coast, Yanna embraces nature as the ultimate healing space.

Therapeutic Approach

Yanna’s therapeutic approach is whole Person-focused; as such it is tailored specifically to each person’s unique background, life experiences, and challenges. Profound respect for the individual’s inner wisdom to guide one toward our own solutions, is at the core of person-centered therapy. Yanna is specialized in numerous therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment Theory, Play therapy with children, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR works largely with the subconscious mind, where many of our unprocessed emotions reside, and is most effective in processing traumatic thoughts and memories.

Yanna provides Individual Counselling, Couples therapy, and Play therapy with children in her practice. The Developmental Model and attachment theories inform her work with couples and relationship issues. Enhancing communication and connection, to create healthier lives, are at the heart of Yanna’s practice. Self-compassion, challenging limiting thoughts and patterns, releasing the past to grow into the next stage of one’s life, is a lifelong path to creating the life you love.

Yanna also works with Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP).

Across all modalities, her work is rooted in increasing self-compassion and working through beliefs and habits that are no longer helpful to the next stage of one’s life.

Yanna also works with Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP).
