Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about counselling services at Clear Heart.
What types of counselling do you offer?
We offer individual counselling, couples counselling, anxiety counselling, and depression counselling. Our services are available both in-person and through secure virtual sessions across British Columbia.
Do you offer virtual counselling?
Yes. We provide secure online counselling sessions via video to clients throughout British Columbia. Virtual sessions are just as effective as in-person and offer greater flexibility and accessibility.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book an appointment through our online booking system at clearheart.janeapp.com. You can view available times and book directly online at your convenience.
What should I expect in my first session?
Your first session is an opportunity to get to know your counsellor, discuss what brings you to therapy, and set goals for your counselling journey. It is a safe, confidential, and judgment-free space where you can share at your own pace.
Is counselling covered by insurance?
Many extended health benefits plans cover counselling services. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your coverage. We can provide receipts for insurance reimbursement after each session.
How long are counselling sessions?
Standard counselling sessions are 50 minutes. The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Many clients start with weekly sessions and transition to biweekly or monthly as they progress.
Is everything I share confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship. Everything shared in sessions is kept strictly confidential, with limited exceptions required by law (such as risk of harm to self or others).
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee. We understand emergencies happen and handle these on a case-by-case basis.
