Recovering from a motor vehicle accident involves far more than physical healing — emotional and psychological recovery matter just as much. Many people experience stress, anxiety, trauma, sleep issues, irritability, or difficulty returning to daily routines after a crash.
Our registered ICBC counsellors help you understand how the accident has affected your nervous system, emotions, and sense of safety. We focus on trauma-informed strategies, emotional regulation, grounding skills, and coping tools that make day-to-day life more manageable. The goal is to support your mind and body in recovering together.
Many clients experience increased stress, hypervigilance, panic, avoidance, or emotional shutdown after a collision. Others feel pressured to “bounce back” quickly. Counselling provides a judgment-free space to slow down, process the accident, and feel supported while regaining control at your own pace.
All approved ICBC counselling sessions are fully covered, making it easier to access consistent care without financial worry. You can begin therapy as soon as you feel ready — in person or online. However, therapy is provided without a referral if completed within 12 weeks of your accident.
